You can´t see or hear frames. They ar part of what cognitive scientists call the "cognitiv unconscious" - structures in our brains that w cannot consciously acces, but know by their consequences: the way we reason and what counts as common sense. We also know frames through language. All words are defined relatively to conceptual frames. When you hear a word, its frame (or collection of frames) is activated in your brain.
Priming is an implicit memory effect in which exposure to a stimulus influences a response to a later stimulus. It can occur following perceptual, semantic, or conceptual stimulus repetition.
Priming is a theory in which the activation of one thought may trigger related thoughts. The priming theory states that media images stimulate related thoughts in the minds of audience members. For example, if a person were to see a cartoon character play a trick that inflicts pain on another character, it could make that person more likely to repeat the violent action in real life.Grounded in cognitive psychology, the theory of media priming is derived from the associative network model of human memory, in which an idea or concept is stored as a node in the network and is related to other ideas or concepts by semantic paths. Priming refers to the activation of a node in this network, which may serve as a filter, an interpretive frame, or a premise for further information processing or judgment formation.
Jeg har også undret mig - en smule over - at de andre medier ikke i højre grad har fulgt op på 'Hængt ud på forsiden'-udsendelserne. En god anledning til selvransagelse, eller hur?
